Why it's dangerous to let someone else define your role

I’ve casually looked at jobs in the last 2 months. Very casually. One job in particular made me laugh. Their last ask was to be “marketing savvy,” which was a really big “no-duh” moment.
Why would they even ask that? Maybe they’ve been burned before.
It’s hard for me to read through job posts that outline basic needs word for word.
versus…
Jobs that trust you to do all that and instead list direct needs that need fulfilling.
You can really tell what job will be better off of job descriptions, sometimes.
